Healthier Baked Chicken Parmesan Recipe:
4 Thin sliced chicken breasts
4 Sliced Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
1 cup tomato sauce (I use Rao's)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 cup tomato sauce (I use Rao's)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp italian seasoning
t tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt and fresh cracked pepper
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Basil (for garnish)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees (I use convection). Grease or spray baking dish. In a separate dish or plate, marinate the chicken breasts with olive oil and seasonings for 5 minutes. Place marinated chicken breasts in baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over. Bake chicken for approximately 15-20 minutes. Take out baking dish and place the sliced mozzarella on top of chicken. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of mozzarella and return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is completely melted and bread crumbs start to brown. Sprinkle with chopped basil and enjoy!
** Pro tip - add about a 1/2 tbsp of olive oil to bread crumbs to get a slightly clumpier and crispier texture.
